Wingatui Nurseries specialise in hardy plants for riparian projects, amenity plantings and landscaping.

We are nestled in the hills overlooking the Taieri Plains, smack bang in the middle of our own wetland restoration project.
This project inspires us, teaches us, and provides a healthy source of seeds and cuttings for the nursery.
You can be sure that the plants we sell will flourish in sites around East Otago and North-East Southland.
Our seeds are locally sourced, and plants are locally grown so will handle the local conditions.
Wingatui Nurseries are not open to the public, but visits can be arranged by appointment.
We are a wholesaler – providing plants in bulk at affordable prices.

ABOUT US
The nursery is nestled in the Chain Hills, overlooking the Taieri Plains and was established in 2021.
The nursery is situated in the middle of our own restoration project. This project includes extensive clearing and planting of natives on the surrounding hill slopes, and revegetation of the wetland. We also control introduced predators in order to support the incredible bird life on the property. This is under the wider umbrella of CHiRP – the Chain Hills Restoration Project.
ABOUT SCOTT
Scott is passionate about propagating native plants and has been involved in many planting projects throughout the region. He has qualifications in environmental management, horticulture, and landscape and design.
ABOUT REBECCA
Rebecca has a background in Marine Ecology and has applied her scientific thinking to develop skills in revegetation, land management and predator control. Rebecca is passionate about bringing communities together to achieve great things – she established and leads CHiRP (the Chain Hills Restoration Project), and serves on several Boards that have the community and environment at their core.
